The Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET), in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), is implementing the project “Biodiversity Economy in Selected Landscapes in Namibia” which aims at developing the biodiversity economy in the country.
The biodiversity economy builds upon sectors such as tourism that depend directly on biodiversity for their core business or that contribute directly to the conservation of biodiversity. The national parks together with the adjacent communal conservancies, private reserves and farmland form unique sceneries.

Responsibilities include:
• Event Management
• Procurement processes
• Travel Management
• Secretariat work and services

• Participates in internal team and admin meetings, takes minutes if requested
• Maintains and updates the filing system daily with incoming and outgoing correspondence
• Coordinates the driver
• Organises events, workshops and seminars within or outside the project and internationally
• Provide support and coordinate short-term consultants and project experts in the arrangement of meetings and logistics
• Manages procurement processes up to 2.500 EUR independently
• Coordinates for procurement processes above 2.500 EUR with the team leader and the GIZ office
• Manages the equipment (inventory management).
• Organises transport of visitors and makes hotel and ticket reservations
• Procures tickets for national and international business trips and books accommodation for national and international business trips
• Prepares all documents necessary for visa applications
• Processing travel claims for national and international trips
• Supports contract processes

• Grade 12 Certificate with a formal qualification (Diploma, Degree or similar) from a recognised institution
• At least 3 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
• Good working knowledge of ICT and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
• Proficient in English
• Good management and organisational skills
• Customer and service-oriented attitude
• Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed
